Falcon Weekly - Wheaton North’s Video News Club
• Broadcasts are every Friday to the entire student body, faculty and staff. It’s purpose is to present WNHS news and promote school spirit.
• 45 minutes each day at 8th period; 2 hours each day after school; 8 hours weekends
• Junior year: responsibilities include writing, direction and editing videos
• Senior year: Director of the Club. Responsible for all productions - directing the team, writing, directing and editing videos, work closely with Ms.Verdon, Dr. Bullo (principal) and various Deans of the school for approval and permission
• I have been entrusted and am allowed to use the school’s high-end video and camera equipment as I see fit, including keys to storage and the school’s darkroom
• Blue & Yellow Music Video Special - I recorded, shot and edited this video that featured seniors and WNHS teachers dancing and singing rewritten lyrics from the hit song “Black & Yellow”.
It was shown at the end of the 2010 school year as an summer sendoff. A huge hit!
• Christmas Video Special - Recorded, shot and edited by me over a 3-day period. It featured students and teachers singing a Christmas song. Broadcast prior to Christmas 2010 break.
Special Video Projects - Solely produced by me at the request of various Faculty and Staff of WNHS
• Medal of Honor Video - Created for Veteran’s Day 2010. Honoring WNHS graduate
Robert J. Miller who gave his life in Afghanistan. Shown at an all-school assembly honoring his memory. In addition to the entire student body, other attendees at the assembly included keynote speaker Gov. Quinn, other Medal of Honor Winners, local state politicians.
The video was also shown on WGN news.
• Black History Video - created for Black History month January 2011. It featured African- Americans that attend WNHS talking about famous African-Americans. Broadcast to the entire student body.
WNHS Key Club
• Volunteer at Washington Elementary School to work with underprivileged children from the inner of Chicago to engage them in wholesome activities
WNHS Flock Club
• We act as big brothers and sisters to special needs kids in extracurricular activities. • Created a design for Flock Club tee shirts that students can purchase.
WNHS Yearbook Club
• Aerial photography of school campus. Prints are also in permanent displays throughout the school. • Photography of school activities, including sports.
• Work on and approve design layouts for yearbook pages.

• Won First Place in Photography Division at Art Show for several pieces
• Created and designed WNHS Class Calendar that every student receives. My design was selected from a competition of 12 advanced graphic design students.
• WNHS Student Planner - Each year there is a school-wide contest to create a design for the front and back covers. During my junior year my design was selected for the back cover with a cash prize of $50. During my senior year my design was selected for the front cover with a cash prize of $100.
• Spring 2011 Play Poster - a contest was held in the advanced graphic design class of 30 students. My design was selected, mass-printed and posted around the school and the city of Wheaton.
• WNHS English Convention - the school hosts a convention every year that brings English teachers from neighboring schools to Wheaton. I photographed images, designed the cover of the
brochure that was used throughout the school for the convention.
Volunteer Work
• Burton Chill - this program brings inner city kids to Four Lakes in the winter to learn snowboarding. I volunteered the entire snowboarding season last year, teaching them about the gear, snowboarding techniques, and proper slope etiquette. Every Thursday from 5-10pm.
Work Experience
• Wheaton Trophy (June - December 2010). Worked directly for the president and owner, Gary Tinker, creating designs for special projects in engraving, trophies, plaques and glass works. Mr. Tinker entrusted me with the more difficult and advanced projects.
• 99 Designs - this is an online graphic design project site. Each project is basically a contest, the chosen designs are awarded the contract. So far, two of my designs have won - $400 in payment.
• Babysitting for a single mom with 2 small children. She entrusts me with her car to take the children on outings to museums, swimming and other activities. I also dogsit when she is out of town.
Personal & Family
• I am the oldest of 4 children (2 younger brothers and a sister). One brother is a sophomore and the other is a seventh grader. My sister is in third grade and was adopted from China.

• My mother is a single mom and we do many family activities together including outings to Chicago to visit museums, skiing, and snowboarding. We also like to travel. Recent trips we took in the
last 2 years were to Washington, DC, Florida, California and Colorado.
• I am in charge of my siblings when my mother is working - managing homework, dinner, carpooling, and putting the youngest children to bed.
College Plans and the Future
• I plan to further my interests and pursue a career in videography and the visual arts.
• I am currently applying to Chapman University and USC where I plan to major in cinematography or film production.
